I
started painting in 1985 for pleasure and, because I wanted to have at least one
affordable original oil painting in my home and I couldn't afford to buy one at the
time. I
enjoyed painting so much I continued to paint all through the years and have tried
to stay in the realm of realism. Nothing
is more pleasing to me then to view pictures of the sea, ships, and landscapes.
My hope is that you enjoy viewing my paintings as much as I enjoyed
creating them.
I
hope you like browsing through my on-line gallery.
I am only sorry that the photos of my paintings are not always as clear
and colorful as they should be. They do not always reflect the true image of the
painting. A photographer I am not. All
paintings are completed with true artist quality oils, on stretched canvas
(usually with 8 ounce natural cotton duck) with at least two coats of acrylic
primer. Picture stretchers are constructed with kiln dried, beveled
stretcher bars and have enough canvas on the back for re-stretching. All
entries on this web site are painted and signed by me, Ron Bill.
I construct the frames from solid Walnut, Maple, Oak, Pine and some times more then one of these. All are made from solid wood of the species stated and not just stained to look like the stated wood. Exceptions will be noted.
